NovaNET: Week 11

Deadline for Multicultural Literature Theme 2 writing is this Wednesday, March 30!

• Each writing assignment must be typed, stapled on top of a rubric, and follow MLA format
• Remember, paragraphs should be 6-8 sentences minimum;  the Creative Craft or longer paper at the end of each theme should be 5 paragraphs.
• You cannot receive full credit for your work unless it is handed in by the deadline.

If you missed the Feb. 28 deadline for Theme 1 writing assignments, the work must still be completed.

Next deadline:  April 29.

All conference forms should have been received by now, and parents are asked to sign them and return them to Mrs. Armistead or email receipt from the top of this page.

The lab continues to open from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. daily with rare exceptions for meetings.   Students are also welcome to ask for a pass to come in during their lunch, when a seat is available.

 

NovaNET: Week 10 Conferences

Semester Midpoint Conferences will take place this week with any student who is not on track to recover credit.  Hard copies of the conference form will be mailed home, and parents are asked to receipt these reports by email or signing and returning to Mrs. Armistead.

The lab opens daily at 7:45- 8:15 for extra time.  Many students take advantage of empty seats in the lab during their lunch periods.

Graduation testing is this week;  EOCT dates will be announced soon.  Students are encouraged to practice for EOCT courses by using the Georgia Department of Education website or resources available in the room. 

NovaNET: Week 9

We are at the halfway point of the semester.  To be considered on track to recover credit, students should be at least one half of the way through their modules in each class he/she is enrolled in for recovery.

Two progress reports have been sent home.  The next one will be at the end of next week, and the 12 week progress report will go home the day before Spring Break.  Feel free to proactively contact me or any other teacher about the progress of your son/daughter.  Pinnacle is a great tool, but it doesn't communicate with NovaNET.  I send home frequent updates to keep parents informed;  it is up to the student to share these with parents.

Help for Math and Science classes is posted on the bulletin board in my room.  English classes have offline modules that should be completed at home.  Tests over the reading are online;  bring papers to me attached to a rubric (available in the front of the class on the materials table).

 

NovaNET: Week 8

All students have received their second progress report for NovaNET.

Students have been asked to share this information with their parents.

The lab opens at 7:45 a.m. daily, and students are able to work 30 extra minutes a day if they come in during this time.

Lunch is another option if a seat is available.  Ask for a pass to come in after you eat or for the full class period.

NovaNET Week 7

Monday, March 7:  Progress reports will be given to students.  Feel free to email Mrs. Armistead if you have any question about the report.  A completion rate, meaning the number of mods completed out of the number required for credit recovery will be noted as a percentage. 

The lab opens at 7:45 a.m. daily with rare exceptions for meeting days for conferences, faculty meetings, or IEPs.  Students are also encouraged to come in during their lunch period for extra time when a seat is available.

Multicultural Literature students have had their first deadline for offline writing and reading assignments.  Next deadline:  March 28.

Ninth, Tenth, and American Literature classes do not have benchmark deadlines.  Students are encouraged to keep track of assignments completed and handed in on their gradesheets in folders provided in class.

Any student enrolled in an English class for credit recovery who does not have a book checked out and at home, should do so immediately.  See Mrs. Kreis in rm. 711 6th or 7th period.

Math and Science study help is available by subject area teachers.  Times and locations are listed on the bulletin board.

Any student can receive help from the Spanish Honor Society in any subject.  See Mr. Raburn to fill out a request form for help during lunch.  You may also go to rm. 808 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday for help from a National Honor Society member.  See Mrs. Nelsen for more details.
