GPS Algebra Support Classes
We spent the majority of the class period reviewing the six parent functions:
1) Linear
2) Absolute-Value
3) Quadratic
4) Cubic
5) Square Root or Radical
6) Rational or Inverse
We used our Spiral Notebook to write the name, equation of, table for, and the graph of each of the six parent functions.
The assignment that you completed in class and turned in yesterday was returned to you. I explained how it was graded and discussed each section. You were given time to make corrections before I provided you with a worked-out answer key to keep so that you could check your answers for accuracy.
GPS Algebra Classes
The Function Notation Task from last Friday was handed back. I explained how it was graded (for completion only) and we then went over the solutions to the entire task. All questions were answered.
We then discussed and went over the correct answers to yesterday's homework assignment (Concept Map Shifts Worksheet).
We completed the Slope Warm-up together in class and discussed the Concept Map Stretches/Shrinks Worksheet, which was on the back of the warm-up.
We took a few notes on slopes being steeper (vertical stretch) and less steep (vertical shrink) than that of the linear parent function.
The homework assignment for today is to complete the Concept Map Stretches/Shrinks Worksheet.
*Be sure to include the linear parent graph on the assignment and use three different colors for the other three functions you are to graph.
