GPS Algebra Support Classes
We spent all period reviewing Radicals. We did all of the work for today in our Spiral Notebook and labeled it "Radical Review."
We wrote the three conditions that have to be met in order for a radical to be in simplified form and included an example of each of these three conditions.
We then titled the next section "Example Problems" and went through 13 problems that involved radicals. We practiced simplifying, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
We also included notes on radical conjugates and rationalizing the denominator.
Today's information will make up your next Spiral Notebook Check.
GPS Algebra Classes
As you walked in the room there was a note for you to get out last Thursday's homework assignment (page 148 # 13-29 odd). Eventhough all of these problems had the answers in the back of the textbook for you to check, we still provided you with an opportunity to see each problem worked out step-by-step and to ask questions in class over any of them.
We then gave you a copy of the solutions to Friday's homework assignment (Radical Review Worksheet). You were given time in class to check your answers and ask questions.
*Remember you have a Quiz tomorrow over Radicals. The Quiz will consist of ten problems and you will use iRespond to take the Quiz. The two assignments that we went over in class today provide a great review for the Quiz.
You were given the Review Worksheet for the Unit 2 Test #2. This assignment is not due until Wednesday, November 2nd. However, I highly recommended that you complete all of the radical problems today in order to help you prepare for the Quiz tomorrow. These problems include: # 20-27 and # 35-38 on the worksheet.
I then returned to you the Rational Expressions Quiz. I wrote the grade that I got from iRespond on the top of your paper and put the correct answers on the document camera. You were given time in class to check your paper to see which ones you missed. I will answer any questions you have over this assessment on Wednesday.
The homework assignment for today is to begin working on the Review Worksheet for the Unit 2 Test #2 (recommended # 20-27 and # 35-38) and study for the Radicals Quiz, which will be tomorrow.
